It’s great fun visiting a bar where the bartender is such a pro and so knowledgeable.
Destined to be a professional bartender!

Since the jokes thread left with Juanita, I felt this needed somewhere to go.

A cowboy, who just moved to Montana from Texas, walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud.
He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn.
When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.
The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy,
"You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it.
It would taste better if you bought one at a time."
The cowboy replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers.
One is in Arizona, the other is in Colorado.
When we all left our home in Texas, we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together.
So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself."
The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.
The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way.
He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.
One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs.
All the regulars take notice and fall silent.
When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my
condolences on your loss."
The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs.
"Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains.
"It's just that my wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking."
“It hasn't affected my brothers though."

Yesterday I went to a favorite bar to enjoy a few pints of Firestone Walker 805 Blonde Ales & a baseball game.

After the game was over the place mostly cleared out & soon it was time for shift change behind the bar. One of those rare professional bartenders we were just talking about, who knows my tastes in beer & spirits (with similar tastes himself) came on shift. After settling in he told me he had something for me to sample that he was sure I would like: Unibroue La Fin Du Monde, a Belgium Tripel style blonde Ale @ 9% ABV. From Montreal.

Hits the nose & taste buds with cereal grains & fresh baked bread, stone fruit & honey, & baking spices. Dry but not astringent in the mouthfeel & aftertaste. The best Tripel or Belgium Quad I think I’ve ever had. Available here in singles at better liquor stores.

Yesterday I got home from a work gathering. The shenanigans went until 8:00pm. I thought about heading out to sit at a bar like Jack. Here on a Sunday evening my choices were not many or safe. I was dressed incorrectly for the establishments and my car would be vulnerable in a bad area of the Twin Cities. I went home and sampled out of my beer fridge.

A wheat and citrus Belgium styled beer, "Wit You See" from Invictus Brewing. Smooth, creamy Belgium style beer was very satisfying.

I changed my costume and walked about enjoying a Surley pilsner.

I enjoyed a Guinness last evening. The dry stout hit the spot. I fixed a late dinner and opened a Psuedo Sue. This Toppling Goliath Brewing (Dekorah, IA)offer is light Pale Ale that uses Citra hops. Fruit aromas, clean taste and it finishes bright with a small bite. Delicious.
