Last week in Spain found me drinking more wine than I usually drink and I tipped back my share of Estrella beer, I didn't take many pictures of those though. My wife did grab this one as we enjoyed some Spanish Vermouth one evening though.

Off to Barcelona on Thursday for 3 nights. Looking forward to lots of vermouth, cava and tapas. Haven’t decided which hat to take yet.

Saturday evening I enjoyed Insight Brewing's Demo Tape beer. This Hazy IPA is brewed with Phantasm hops. The beer pours hazy and smells citrus. It tastes tart and finishes dry. A terrific beer to finish my work week.

A warm Sunday morning I was before the grill sipping a Surley Supreme. The buffalo burgers and fixings were tasty.

Sunday efforts found me imbibing another.

^^^My fav Islay Malt.
I knew that and much of the reason I ended up with this bottle was due to that. ‘Preciate the info HJ. I spent some of my spare time this week going backwards through this thread, writing down (pretty much) every scotch that’s talked about. Made it back to the end of 2018 before it was basically nothing but repeats. Now I just need to hit the mega.

Glad we have similar tastes in Scotch, Alan.

HH spent with a few Breckenridge Brewing’s Vanilla Porters under a Stetson 7X Fifty. Very rich & filling with the flavor of rum & Madagascar vanilla beans after being aged together in rum casks for 55 days. 10.9% ABV.

Then home, “puttin’ on the Ritz” killin’ off a bottle of Dalwhinnie 15 Highlands Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Love the glass and the reminder that I haven't had Dalwhinnie in ages.

Thanks for the compliment! Puttin’ on the Ritz glasses are kind of hard to find now. I have a set of 6 rocks. Wish I could find other sizes & shapes.

If I don’t have one put back already I will replace the bottle of Dalwhinnie. My favorite Highlands is Glenmorangie Extremely Rare 18 but I try & only drink it on special occasions. It does occasionally go on sale too so I buy ahead.

I gravitate toward the Islays, but do like a Highlands as well. Have not experienced the Glenmorangie you mention...yet.

Me too. The Lagavulin’s & Ardbegs especially.

Comes in a nice bifold-type box.

When I went out the other day I was hoping to pick up a bottle of Uigeadail. The only Ardbeg they had was 10, so I got the Lagavulin (and a bottle of Tequila Ocho Plata). I’m gonna head north later, to a different store, and look for the Ardbeg again, or the Glenmorangie. That’ll keep me in business for a while.
