Hats and Drinks - A Match Made in Heaven

As Head Groundskeeper & Maintenance Manager my pressing work is behind me for a few days. But before I could make it to the shower, FedEx made a delivery.

Late last wk I found a 1960's NOS Indoor-Outdoor Hors-d'euvre & Bar Cart. So naturally I had to unpack & put it together.

The hors-d'euvres tray is removable to make a game table or whatever. I think it would be perfect for fajita fixin's & tortillas in the center.

The drinks table has a removable ice bucket.

I have some 5v dc LED lights I'm going to add underneath when I have time.

Now to the showers.

Here's to my friends at the lounge! I have been away too long! Resistol and Hazy Little Thing helps with the heat!

Cheers DD! Your Hazy looks thick and satisfying. Perfect for a warm day.

Home this afternoon working hard to enjoy outside Minnesota. A Surley Abrasive Double Ale is my beer this humid and warm 90'f afternoon. The icy cold beer is excellent. I checked that the beer refrigerator's temp is at 38'f for this upcoming weekend. Ready to sip some beer this 4th of July weekend. Usually we travel this weekend, but with the unique Covid situation a stay at home weekend is de rigor.

I hope you are happy, healthy, cool and enjoying some cool refreshment.

The hat and beer looks like a perfect combination for chilling out! Hope the 4th is just as special at home.

Glad to see your getting Comfortable.

I had wild rice soup with soft boiled eggs and an All Day IPA for my breakfast. Breakfast of champions.

I did get a run, walk and a couple of yard chores completed before breakfast. Feeling productive this morning.

I am treating my neighbor to a Surley Supreme, https://surlybrewing.com/beer/grapefruit-supreme/, while we ready his boat. My beer fridge has them deliciously chilly. This pilsner has a bright grapefruit flavor and finishes tart. Perfect for a warm, humid day by the water.

Thanks sir. I feel fortunate to be in one of the many thriving beer cultures here in the US. Man can not live just on Surley beer. How about some Omni Brewing beers. This is a small brewery out on the west side of the Twin Cities. It requires me to take a drive, but I enjoy the rewards. certainly a first world enjoyment.

This morning, after some yard chores I opened a crowler of Omni Peel'n.

I have shared occasions drinking this beer before. I do really enjoy it. It is a lime Gose that tastes sour with lemon, orange peel and orange zest, coriander and sea salt. It may be in my top 5 summer beers. With an ABV of 4.7% I do not feel any guilt having it as a breakfast beer with my breakfast fish tacos this morning.

In local beer reviews, like local paper and Beer Advocate, it gets a middle of the road thumbs up. IMO, wrong. I use beer reviews with a healthy skeptic's eye. I use their taste profiles mostly and discount their final ratings. My tastes evidently are not "their" normal. I am speaking to a local small brewery that I know is not known out of our area, but I suspect that your local small breweries have the same beers with similar reviews.

I know that many Fedora Lounge members live in warmer climates were humidity and heat are more regular. For my neighborhood this is infrequent weather. Lord hope this is not a new normal! Back to topic, this Gose beer really hits the spot after some physical efforts in the heat.

Cheers, Eric -

Snapped this to share with @Hurricane Jack but figured I'd just slide it in here since it sort of fits the theme.

Here's a couple of my old Stetsons with my moonshine jug collection in a hundred year old cabinet I recently picked up.

Now that is very cool !! Would love to hear some stories about those jugs. (That’s what he said).
