Very nice Dale! Reminds me of these beer, Ale & wine coolers made & sold by the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co in the mid/late 1800's. The only one I have ever seen was in a drugstore. Never seen one as an antique for sale.

That beer case is cool. I would guess maybe it held a big block of ice like an old icebox refrigerator. Or maybe the beers were just held at room temperature. Not a good thing down here.

Blocks of ice always at the top; cool air seeks floor level. I would love to have one with windows in quartersawn or tiger oak for a display cabinet.

Working the grill while sipping Yamazaki 12 and comparing it to Four Roses single.

Yamazaki 12 is just a delicious tasting whiskey tonight. I have the time to carefully smell, and sip the whiskey. It is subtle tropical notes with honey that a finish of cloves and red currant. For no particular reason other than to offer a comparison smell and taste I choose a Four Roses Single Barrel. It is a glorious corn mash whiskey on it's own. It has a spice with dark chocolate smell/first taste and it finishes with strong oak. It is a terrific valued whiskey.

The above are my tastings tonight. My descriptions of what I am tasting/smelling changes. Intriguing tonight. I am only allowing myself small amounts as my wife aid she wished to share a glass of wine later.

Really like your thoughts on the Yamazaki 12, Eric. I'm still looking for a bottle from time to time.

With my Resistol Wide Country tonight I had chips & salsa, & spicy cheese dip. Chicken toquitos, Carne Asada, rice & beans. I eat early to leave more time for drinking. Now it's time for Tequila!

Breakfast and now brunch at my house. Dog soiree, run, cool down walk, mulching, squaring away bird feeders, rake the beach, clean then stock the fire pit, laundry, watering garden and now fixing brunch has me bushed already this morning. Time for brunch. Time for a change of shirts after lunch. Working on preparing a brunch sausage and vegetable "Hobo Packet." Combined spicy deer sausage, cabbage, zucchini, onion, summer squash, peppers, tomatoes into tin foil and steaming on the grill. Once done I add some summer dressing and a hearty but light brunch is ready. My usual is to sip a beer during the prep. A Omni FAD (Freaking Awesome Delicious) New England Double IPA crowler is my choice. A terrific choice! The only critisism is that the color of the pour is off putting - kind of a greenish yellow.

Squeezing the most out of my Sunday.

As Winston Churchill was working to form the United Nations after WWII, he famously said, “Never let a good crisis go to waste”. Being self aware, I do not ask others to participate in my frenetic days as they are not normal.
