Brown is the Saturday morning color. An Adams Executive (Pacesetter model) in brown is my second brown hat of the day. I am staying to the same color palette by sipping a brown ale.

Barbecue started.

Another 6 hours to go before guests arrive for a protein and summer vegetable treat. Used some Founders Sumatra Mountain Brown Ale amongst the ingredient for a marinade this morning. It is an excellent Imperial Brown Ale. http://foundersbrewing.com/our-beer/sumatra-mountain-brown/

Thanks Bob. It's an Olympia Club spring lever made in Switzerland in the '70's I think (can't remember the serial number for the date). It has a nice big brass boiler, hot water valve on the left, steam valve on the right so it serves as my hat steamer too. There is a '60's Italian Arrarex Caravel manual lever/open boiler that sits beside it (220v with a step down transformer). I've cleaned, lubed & rebuilt both of them with new seals, springs, etc.

Vintage espresso machines & coffee grinders are another passion of mine. Here's a pic without all the clutter.

Eric, I really like your photos in this thread!

Though the ladies be elusive, the beer and hats are not. Here's a Dobbs rainbow with a delectable prickly pear cactus gose. The hat is too small. I'd love to find one in my size. But it squeezes on the head anyway.

No pic to post sideways but I swear I was wearing one of my Rand's tonight when I drank several drams of Herradura Resposado served neat after a couple of house Maragritas. I have a barkeep who always takes care of me on the extra shot for a buck deal. The Herradura was smooth without much of a medicinal alcohol taste. It clang to the glass well & imparted a bit of vanilla & caramel flavors but probably not enough to convince me to add it to my rotation & I'm not sure at what price point you can buy a bottle at. It would probably be great in a margarita or other mixed tequila drink however. And I will temper my comments by the fact that I had just eaten a Tex Mex meal. I should try it again with a clean palate before making a decision whether to add it to my rotation or not.

I might say that Mr Guillermo Romo who owned Herradura has a lot to do with the tequila recognition and boom worldwide, he used to say that his tequila was as good as any whisky or cognac and should be respected as one of the best spirits in the world, also be priced accordingly.

There are 2 weekend tours by train leaving from Guadalajara, one, the Jose Cuervo Express, goes to Tequila, to the Hacienda La Rojeña distillery and, the Tequila Express, that goes to Amatitan, to the San Jose del Refugio Hacienda where Herradura is made, both are great all day long tours with plenty of knowledge, fun, Mariachi Music and Tequila.

So Herradura is a big name, very well positioned and overpriced, for me, normally I dont drink Herradura, you described it quite well, it seems to "perfumed" for my taste.

Regular 1 liter reposado costs about 25 bucks here, añejo goes for 35 but they have a Selección Suprema that costs 150 for a 3/4 lt bottle.

They have a Blanco and a Silver option too, to me the silver is the nicest of all

Ps. Bought a bottle of Herradura Anjeo abt a year ago. I enjoyed it but it was too pricey for me. Abt $45 USD. At $29 USD the Centenario Anjeo is a steal and my go to Tequila.
Centenario Añejo is very a very Good tequila, they have a Plata too, my dad used to drink Centenario Añejo, I like it.

The train tours sound like a great time & that is something I surely would enjoy! I've always wanted to make it to Scotland as well & tour the distilleries of some of my favorites there too. But time is running out so I guess I'll just have to enjoy the occasional pub crawl.

Thanks for the information on Herradura. I do plan to try it another time or two with a clean palate to see if there are flavors that were covered up before from my meal. I've added it to my master list of whisky & tequila that I watch pricing on regularly. So it could fit into my rotation at some point; who knows? One thing is for sure & that is pricing on most all of this stuff (& single malts in particular) are just going to continue to rise.

Back from the horse show. The mosquito crop is excellent. If only I could find an attribute that science would appreciate so that I could cultivate what is so populous in my neighborhood.

Enjoying a Deschutes Pine Drop IPA in my new Adams Pacesetter (Executive Quality Fedora) in buckskin. On the way home we stopped at a local antique/junk shop and I spotted the box/hat. Shhhh - it is the most enjoyable part of horse shows. We see what we wish to see - I love the Adam Pacesetters! New hat afternoon at my house.

Deschutes Pine Drop I have posted pics before. The beer really has citrus and pine notes. Can you imagine a beer that has a pine taste and tastes good? Excellent if you enjoy hoppy with crisp a finish.

Yes, you are 100% right.

We have a boom of agave syrup, they export,it to asia, and I can tell you en 6 or 7 years from now we will have an agave shortage an prices will go up.

Thats why I drink a lot now that its still affordable !!!

Thanks. So cheap here compared to the other premiums. I tried a few glasses of the Doble Diamante. Loved it.
This is what I drink bro, 25 bucks for 1 litter, kicks like a mule so,if you are not used to it, you can get drunk 6 or 7 times for 25 bucks, not bad at all.

I love it with a beer on the side, kicks harder but I am used to it now.
