Shortly ago I completed cutting up a couple small dead pine trees. I started a small fire in the yard fire pit, am watching the planes from the local air show flying overhead and eating a piece of left over brown sugar grilled salmon I am very satisfied. Oh yes, wearing a Gannon Hat Co. fedora (whiskey and charcoal trimmings).

That sounds a rather excellent start to the morning.

Akubra Balmoral on this overcast and rainy day. Sitting at 1/2 Priced Books waiting for them to tell me my $500+ of books is only worth $50 store credit. [emoji22]

Starbucks Sumatra to help me cope with the disappointment. I won't lie, however, Starbucks has gone down in my book over the past few years. It will do in a pinch, but not that much better than McCafe. McDonalds has a better brew with less cost and hassle.

Another holiday weekend means $5 growler fills at Granite City. This one is filled with their German Bock, The Bennie. I have another growler I filled with their IPA, Northern Light just in case any lightweight beer drinkers might come around this weekend.

First holiday I'll be able to wear my new BSHW.

Beautiful! Is that a heathered felt? I didn't know modern hatters had that option anymore.
Love that granite city Benny too.

BSHW offers the heathered felt.

You can't beat Granite City's $5 growler refills, usually each & every holiday weekend. I got an invite to a tap party this wk where they will be tapping their seasonal Gold Fever, a Belgian Strong Pale Ale. I'll be filling my 4th of July growler with Gold Fever!

Pinedrops is probably my favorite IPA! It's up there with 100 yard dash. I like those conifer flavors more than the citrus ones! But All Day is my "usual."

Jeff; We have similar tastes. All Day is just a perfect treat on a warm day after chores or a long run. I have been enjoying Sirley's West Coast Ale as it has more conifer flavors in the hoppy brew.

A bit of hedonism on the deck tonight, with a beaver brand 8X American Legend, a bowl of Boswell's Burley in a custom Kevin Arthur pipe, and a glass of Breckinridge Nitro Vanilla Porter.

Looks enjoyable! Founders Breakfast Stout is my sit down, 1st world lovely sipping beer. No electronics, no distractions. Usually sitting with my dogs on the dock or in the boathouse watching the lake change in the weather and sipping the lovely oatmeal, chocolate, hoppy flavor. Typing this I can not eat to complete y travels today and get home late evening for a special treat.

Enjoy your moments Jeff. Best, Eric -

LOL...once a newbie learns how, there's nothing sweeter than a cob. This one has an antler shank.

PS: I should add for those interested in the historical aspect, corn cob pipes first came into use in about 1869 - 1870.
I'm surprised the corn cob pipe is that late in the 19th century. Seems like they would have figured it out as soon as we started growing corn in the new world. Kewl!
