Rich & filling @ 6.7% ABV is correct. I couldn't drink more than two in a setting.

Early morning it was time for cold brewed coffee.

Before 8:00am I visited the neighbors after breakfast (Oatmeal and a Founders All Day IPA) to confirm that using my chainsaw would not be a problem. Good to go.

Post yard efforts I fixed fish stew. A small dram of Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve paired well today. I tried pipeting some water to see what changes in the whiskey I would appreciate. I found I preferred no water to this whiskey.

Celebrating a good report card on my annuals. Doctor said whatever you’re doing, just keep doing it. So I celebrated with a few early afternoon pints of Dunkel & my Resistol 3X felted edge.

Got a text that it was all you can eat pork spare ribs while they last. I definitely over ate & may have over hydrated. Same hat, different lighting.

I enjoying some low ABV beer during this past weeks walkabouts. Founders All Day IPA was my evening beers.

I needed a change of pace and yesterday took the opportunity to enjoy a small dram of Red Breast 12 whiskey. IMO, it is a tasty and well blended Irish whiskey. It is a whiskey to keep stocked on the shelf.

This mornings breakfast beer was a Surley Supreme. Goes well with oatmeal.

Enjoy the 4th of July (American followers of this thread) weekend. Cheers, Eric -

An American holiday weekend should be spent surrounded by truly American icons such as the Western Cowboy hat, American raised beef, & sipping American distilled whiskey.

After a day spent under a Ritch Rand Tom Horn & a meal including a KY bourbon marinated, home raised ribeye steak grilled over charcoal, it’s time for some Balcones Texas sipping Single Malt Whisky, while I resume watching the American classic, Lonesome Dove, started last night.

A Surley Yummi Bear went well with today's version of Finnish Kalamojakka (fish stew or soup). The West Coast IPA was a tasty lunch treat.

Cod, salmon, fish stock, spinach, carrots, leak were the base of the soup. No potatoes or cream were in the house.

After cutting the lawn and blowing walkways and drive I imbibed a Surley pilsner.

Efforting to be socialable with the neighbors I poured a Founders Bottle Shop Mango Magnifico. I picked up a four pack at local liquior store for $8.99. I told the staff that it was most certainly was priced incorrectly. The young lady assured me it was correct as she checked the new beer stock earlier that day. I suggested a chcek and she got huffy. Ok - I picked up 2 4 packs.

"Mango Magnifico is a high-gravity fruit beer brewed with mango and a touch of habaneros to add just the right amount of heat. The delicate flavors imparted by the sweet richness of the mango are punctuated perfectly by the subtle heat of the habaneros, proving that fruit beers do not have to be one-note."

This beer has 10'ABV. The beer actually works. My purchase was out of curiosity. The habaneros add a spice (peppery heat). Interesting and a beer to sip when you have time to enjoy.

My wife and the neighbors drank some Mojitos and Lemonade Vodkas. They enjoyed their drinks. No one asked about my beer and I did not share. At the time I was not sure how to describe the curious flavors.

Cheers, Eric-
