Hats and Drinks - A Match Made in Heaven

Tuesday, Lady B and the Kid had an appointment at Vanderbilt for the Kid's annual brain scan. They usually make a day of it and Lady B enjoys beer shopping for local brews when out of town. She's done a pretty good job at returning home with something I'll enjoy, with a few exceptions. This is one of those I really enjoy. Easily identifiable as a pilsner type. It's light, crisp and no heavy mouth feel or explosion of foam, just as one would hope. There is just a bit of sharpness and no fruitiness. It's a bit dry, like a white wine, as someone here once described a beer, yet not so dry you want a glass of water when finished. Just another beer. The crispness and the clean mouth feel make this the best "micro" brew I've tried this summer. Very refreshing, and perfect for a hot day(s). It's a seasonal. 5% ABV.

First things first, BB. I hope she received a good annual report & all is well.

I've seen Nashville Brewing before but don't think I have tried any. The crispness sounds good for a Pils. I'll have to pick some up or give it a try out somewhere. Good review!

Some afternoon pickin' on the porch with my Stetson Fifty, some Siete Leguas & my Epiphone Texan (which didn't make it in the pics).

Late afternoon I sampled a new to me beer, a Surley Grapefruit Supreme. It is a cloudy beer that is smells grapefruit but drinks crisp and dry. On a warm afternoon it is refreshing. For a beer that after reading the ingredient list and advertising sounds pretentious or hip, it is excellent. I will pick some up to put in the beer refrigerator for guests. It is worthy. ttps://surlybrewing.com/beer/grapefruit-supreme/

Cheers on a warm and humid afternoon.

I am struck this evening at the similarity between this beer's taste and that of a soda out of my youth - Squirt. I recall drinking Squirt at the lake cabin on hot days. Perhaps Squirt Original exists. Nothing like the soda with real sugar. :p
Best, Eric -

Pils worth taking and that are easily swallowed.:D

I started this morning in a felt hat and the heat and humidity have me switched to a straw cap for morning coffee. Same coffee from yesterday. Cuppa goodness.

^^^^^ Preventative for the Big 'C' I hope @Yamahana . If not, then keep on whoopin'... I pray that you win.
Thanks Bob I appreciate that but mines pretty minor. I ain’t worried about it..something else will get me before it does. I’m thinking something like shot in the back by 19 year old jealous husband at the age of 96.

Love Surly! The food is fantastic as well. That cap screams "summer" Eric!

Bandera and Betty today. I try to support local independent breweries! This is one of my brother in law's favorites. Whenever we are together, some of these will be tasted! I am accused of being a bad influence!
