I guess it takes practice, but I feel a mite silly standing in front of a mirror in order to get that tilt "just so." Bogey just tossed his hat on and looked great.

I don't think you have to spend that much time adjusting it. It becomes so that when you put it on it just sits that way.

This brings up an interesting point: I've found, indeed, that my slightly small hats look just the right size when tilted. So, perhaps we should be less obsessed about stretching vintage hats -- just buy them small, and wear them at an angle.

It's true that a "properly" sized hat, sitting less than half and inch from your ears, is not going to tilt very well.

Sometimes I think the trick was to buy a hat that was a little small for you. The hats I wear that are a little small seem go tilt-y better than others.
