Hat Puller Downer

I just received my hat puller downer from Mark DeCou. Very fine quality craftsmanship. Some of you may remember seeing the brim cutter he made for me at: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?10619-Brim-trimmer-cutter-or-rounding-jack..

He is a true craftsman, good with emails. He even gave me a free puller downer. I highly recommend him.

Forgive my naivete, but what the devil does it do? (yeah...it's a puller-downer)

When blocking a hat Cliff it's used to grab the brim & pull it down over the block

OK thanks. I thought a tool to do that would look more like a press of some sort - that would do all sides at once. Unless, those parts shown are part of a larger apparatus?

there ARE presses Cliff but that's for the "big guys". Us small timers mostly hand block ( in my case "wet block") so this is a very useful tool.

I love dual purpose tools.
