That was an interesting read, it gives an in-depth look as to an approximation of when felt qualities started to diminish and the shift in marketing to the higher price points. My biggest takeaway was that around 1955-56 felt qualities started dropping. That and the 'slight' change in pricing to '.95' makes it a bit easier to date a hat.
