"At last! A place for a man to hang his hat" the store display reads, in blue letters on a deep yellow background. The other side of the display has images showing the many uses this item may provide.

What we have here is a NOS vintage hat holder that I believe to be c.1940s in rough dating.

The display also holds 5 items, each being sealed in it's own packaging, ready for sale.

By design, it holds the hats by the brim, next to the crown, allowing a solid hold. This, as shown in display photos, allows a few mounting positions for space saving.

Enjoy

Anthony, J,
I'm glad you enjoy the rack. I couldn't pass it up when I saw it. It looks like a simple design that one could remake for sure. Searching online, I have been unable to find anything regarding the "Hat Kradle"

J, it is good to be back. Relearning as I go along, but alas.. among friends once more

Excellent, Justin. Great piece of hat history.

Many years ago, my job entailed performing environmental inspections of real property. One of the places I looked at was an old auditorium in downtown Dayton. The upper level had several rows of wooden, "theater" style seats. Under each seat was a rig similar to this so you could place your hat there while attending the show. I was told that feature was somewhat common at the time.

WHOA! Now that's cool. I saw one of these on ebay quite a long time ago, but I have never seen the whole display. VERY cool. Whats very neat is that this was sold at 3227 Fullerton Ave in Chicago. That is literally 7 blocks from my house. That area is called Logan Square and is a very cool historic area. The building that the item was sold at was torn down to make way for a modern building unfortunately, but that's a great piece of hat and Chicago history.

Now that is amazing! I bought it a few years back but immediately after I shipped off, and I completely forgot about it. Moving to a new property after getting out of the service uncovered it sitting in storage. Was a nice surprise for sure... makes me wonder what else is out there
