Hat etiquette at casino?

I suspect that in European casinos generally the dinner jacket is still common. However, when I was in Europe and in a position to visit one (Bad Homberg) I couldn't have afforded the DJ let alone the cost of an evening's gambling so I speak only from hearsay.

There is no etiquette in casinos, for hats or much else for that matter. I work seasonally in a casino during the summer as a 21 dealer, and the only policy we have is that dealers aren't allowed to wear them during Rodeo Week because the brim blocks the security camer from seeing what your hands are doing in the tray where the chips are. Customers can wear whatever they want, wherever, and believe me, you see some strange outfits....

Just please, no fanny packs, that's all I ask....

If it was Las Vegas in 1955 you, Frank, Peter, Sammy and Dino would leave your chapeaux with the hat check girl. Today who knows.
