...Mike, I probably stitched that liner through the reeding strip and hid the stitches under the hatband.

John,

You did stitch the liner to the reed strip in a couple of places. You can see one stitch in the photo below. Works great at holding the liner in place.

I finally got around to changing out the miss-matched colored bow on my John Galt nutria conversion for the one that matches the ribbon, (bad lighting caused me to mix the colors on the last one). It doesn't show well in the pictures but the bow and ribbon color do match this time...I love this hat! John did a great job converting it...I don't care much for wide ribbons but this nearly 1 3/4 wide ribbon suits the tall straight sided crown very well. I hid the stitching on the bow work... Thanks again John.

Hey buddy! How have you been? Haven't spoken with you in a while...Thanks buddy. I definitely appreciate the comment but I can't take credit for the conversion work. John Galt did that one. As far as my ribbon work, I had good teachers. John Galt, kingrat, and Ole (The Dane), were good enough to share their skills with me. To those guys, I give credit for as much as I have learned so far.

Don't seller yourself short ,if you had the blocks and few more tools you would be on your way too doing your own conversions.

Kingrat is right Terry! Your ribbon work is great, and you clearly have the skills to do the rest. It's just the lack of tools that's limiting you at this point. In that regard, have you had a chance yet to use the rounding jack I sent you?

John, Is it possible to contact you directly to ask about hat restoration work? As a new member I believe I can't send messages until I hit a certain number of posts.

Terry did a nice job with the ribbon, and JG did a nice job converting the hat. Why not give credit to JG for the hat? Extend credit where it's due.
