Yes, he got what he wanted. Let's not get him stirred up again.
He certainly was defensive.

Yes, he was new in town and didn't know the culture of the Lounge and all of the knowledge possessed by the members. He didn't realize that what he wanted in a jacket was exactly opposite of what the members here found desirable. Can't blame him, though, as it was a clash of styles. He certainly was defensive.

In the end, some of the members here were helpful, and he got what he wanted. I will say it took a lot of my time in moderating the discussion and in replying to messages. That's why I said don't get him started up again.
I've not been in here much. I only found myself in here originally because of one man, my good friend Robb whose user name was Plumbline.
I don't know if there's already been a post about this and I haven't found it. I'm very sad to report that Robb passed away on Wednesday of this week. Much too young.
He was a lovely guy and a great friend. He'll be sadly missed by a great many people.

Thanks for sharing.I heard from Hoosier Daddy just now. He had a broken leg from this summer, but that is healing. He seems to be accustomed to the chemo and is overcoming the side effects, at least partially. It's been a long road for him. He is a tough guy and will pull through.
Leither was on the front lines when Covid hit, and we worried about him. He responded that he's okay, just picked up a new hobby (guitars, I think) which takes most of his "forum time". I liked his pictures, he wears his jackets extremely well.
Was thinking the same just yesterday. I guess Paradise Island does this to you! No need for leather jackets except super lightweight ones.
I had no idea things were so severe in Australia. Take care of your mental health.I still lurk around here occasionally. Don't have anything constructive to add. Things aren't the same after the last two and a half years. Trying to be careful not to stray into politics, but I live in a section of Sydney that, along with eleven other council areas was subjected to two "hard" lockdowns based blatantly on ethnic and socio-economic discrimination. 2020 was a six-month lockdown, 2021 eight months. Police helicopters enforcing curfew, army and police ensuring people only stepped outside their doors for one hour exercise per day with masks on. You worked from home or you lost your job. Army and police checking your shopping to make sue it was "essentials" only.
Not as bad as Melbourne though, where the police fired rubber bullets at people, beat up journalists and even repeatedly sprayed a 70-year-old woman in the face with capsicum spray after body-slamming her onto the ground.
The economy here is in ruins. Businesses closed everywhere. Most won't return. Kids are a year behind in their schooling, isolated from seeing their grandparents, relatives and friends. And I'm ashamed to say it got to me - the discrimination, the isolation, the anger when government officials were on the television saying the government owned our rights and could take them away from us and reinstate them at their whim - more than a few of which are now facing corruption investigations. It's had a major impact on the mental health of many in south-western Sydney.
That's not my Australia, the Australia I grew up in. That's Stalin's Russia or something like it. Were my WWII vet father still alive, he'd have been disgusted.
So I don't have anything of value to add here. I still have a look every couple of weeks, see how guys like Ton and Terry and Marc and all of you are doing. That's all.
Thanks for thinking of me Ton.
Yep, OZ has had zero Covid policy, like China.S
