Congrats! He has a great show and is a very kind man if you can meet him. I got the opportunity when my sister was in his fan club and he was wonderful to meet and get an autograph from! Hope you have a blast!

He is a great showman. Very talented and entertaining. My problem with him is that he recently admited in an interview that he does not enjoy doing the standards anymore. He finds them boring and does them only to please his fans. He is on a "new stuff only" kick. I don't know why he would admit that to the public since his career is partialy based on singing the standards but it gave me another view of him. Hopefully, he will sing some good-old-stuff mixed with his "new stuff" for you.

I know he is a very kind person. 14 years ago - I guess my son must have been 5 or 6 years old at the time, we were in Portugal. The carradio was playing and before I could say something, my son said: "That's Harry Connick Jr. singing" It was - but we had never heard that song. (Needless to say, that we palyed a lot of Harry at home.)
We went into a record shop and asked - and yes: "Star Turtel" had just come out!
Later - when we came home - I wrote a letter to Harry Connick Jr. through some fanclub, telling the story about our son who recogniced his singing.

Thought nothing more about it, thought it had just gone lost somewhere until suddenly one day an envelope arrived from US. Inside a huge photo of Harry Connick Jr. Personally signed: "Greeting to Kristoffer from Harry Connick Jr."
(Even got his firstname right!)

My son is of course going to the concert too - and even plan to bring the photo!!! Sitting on row 3 Harry should be able to see it from the scene!

Harry blew Copenhagen away!

And Copenhagen blew Harry and band away!

It was a fantastic evening. The audience was in place and minutes before the curtain went up, everybody was applauding.
For the first 3 numbers, Harry did not even look up, he looked shy, in doubt maybe?
What was this…?
But the audience simply carried him and his band on and on.
As he said from the scene: “Well. I am from New Orleans and people down there knows how to enjoy music – but it’s way down south, man. You guys are way up north – it should not be like this! You Danes are the coolest audience I have met for a long, long time.”

How could this evening go wrong? Most of the music was from the new album – but he also included some older stuff. And when he introduced Lucien Barbarin the roof just went off. Together they played and danced through a great set.
The fantastic band went on and on. Harry danced, joked, played piano, organ and charmed his way into an audience that loved him from the very first minute. Just like they loved him twenty years ago.

When he said: “This is my first time here”, the audience shouted back: WE KNOW!!!!
As if we did not know. I think he will be back. I hope he will. And we will be there.

The largest newspaper in Denmark wrote a great review and gave the concert 6 stars out of 6!!!!

sounds like it was one helluva fantastic evening, Spitfire ...wish i could see him now :eusa_doh: ...just watched Memphis Belle and i think the best part is when he sings "Danny Boy"...man...

Having met Harry Connick twice, and having hung out with his Dad, I can say he is a very nice, down to earth guy. Isn't great when a celebrity you like doesn't turn out to be a self-absored jerk? Great fashion spread of him, his wife and children in this month's Esquire.
