vamps?

Definitely in a class of her own, but I wonder if the "daring" look, as we see it, is more a reflection of how we see standards of the day through Hollywood eyes.
Topless women abounded in European films right up to the 30's and in public situations as well, there's famous footage of a ball in Paris in the 20's that would put most doof parties to shame.
I recall the first time I ever saw "La Bandera" with Gabin, and couldn't believe the naked women in it.
Nothing new under the sun they say.

I don't look at it so much as nudity or even Hollywood when it comes to Louise Brooks but rather an era long gone, like lost art, no media like todays world. She definitely was a head of her time; I admire strong minded or willed women. The only thing that saddens me is “Death” as in Death be not proud.
It would have been amazing to talk with her, totally awesome woman.
Thanks to all for her images, now I’m hooked ;)

As a hairstylist I hate to admit that I know more about her haircut than I do the woman.I've read a few blurbs here and there, collected some photos, but have yet to see one of her pictures.
Yet,there's something about her that draws me in.I can't quit looking at her, those eyes just beckon to you.

When they made Brooksie, they broke the mold.

Love the images that have been posted. Did she ever take a bad photo in her youth? Even as an elderly woman, wracked with illness, she still looked striking.

A neat gin or two toast to her tonight, I think. Or maybe a Bacardi Cocktail. With a couple of flickering silver screen movies featuring the girl in the black helmet.

I'll just have to try not to become too "gincoherent".
