NO!!!!!! I'm pathetically out of the loop when it comes to these things..even news stories....I don't have cable, so no tv except for movies that I either rent or buy, and hardly ever read any kind of magazines...I truly am in my own little world[angel]

Hey....

eye candy can be of whatever persuasion it wants to....its just for looking anyhow.... :D
It's like the whole Rock Hudson thing...one of my most favorite movies was 'pillow talk' and absolutely fell in love with the guy...until I learned that he wasn't interested in girls, just made the romance- not that romantic somehow:p

It's definitely common knowledge in the UK, since it was here that he was mugged while out walking his dog at 4am in a London Park, followed by much speculation about what he was doing in a park at 4am!

I met my main crush!

Way back in post 334 I confessed my crush for Stephen Colbert. One of the friends I met on the Internet offered me a ticket for last Thursday's taping so, one white lie to my boss later, I was off to NYC. If you like The Colbert Report you must try to get to a taping--I haven't had that much fun in years.

After the taping the 5 of us in our group decided to wait by the stage door like a bunch of 16 year olds even though we were all in our mid/late 30s. If I hadn't been in a group I probably wouldn't have done it since I was on the fence about whether this sort of thing is too intrusive. However, I've read that as long as you are quick and respectful he doesn't seem to mind so I decided to stay.

It was quite late (nearly midnight) when he finally emerged but he was completely gracious to us. He was dressed casually with a backpack (upping his geekish charm in my opinion). He's much more handsome in person without the stiff hairgel and makeup he wears for television. Not as tall as I'd imagined, slender but not slight, warm brown eyes and a really lovely open smile and demeanor.

I'm usually quite in control of myself but I was completely tongue tied and I could barely remember my name when he asked for it. He shook our hands and asked if we wanted a picture. I had, foolishly, not brought my camera so I asked one of the other women to take a shot. He put his arm around me and there was some glitch with the camera so we had to wait a bit. He squeezed my arm and I rested my head on his shoulder for a moment (sigh!). Finally the photo was taken and I managed to squeak out my thanks, "my pleasure" he replied. He waved to us as he rounded the corner and as soon as he disappeared we all dissolved into squeals.

A fleeting meeting but so much fun. It's nice when a celebrity lives up to your expectations.

I agree about the irrelevance of the persuassion of eye candy. It's all fantasy anyhow.

My case in point, Anderson Cooper. Gosh he's easy on the eyes.
