My husband and I are working our way through all his shows -- he looks like he's from today, not 1997-1999!! It's funny seeing him next to people who are firmly planted in the 1990s.

Ahead of his time!! :D

No, TIME TRAVELER!!! lol

Richard Speight Jr.

Someone mentioned "Band of Brothers" on here, so I thought I'd contribute another swell Fella from that. Richard Speight Jr. played Sgt. Skip Muck. he also gave a lovely speech this past summer at a ceremony back east honoring the real guys who inspired this show, including the real Sgt. Muck. You've probably seen him recently on Supernatural and the funny Pepsi Max ad. Here he is in the center of the photo. Doesn't he look smashing in that uniform?

It is not so much the clothes, but how well you wear them

Lady Day said:
What type of vintage garb just floats your boat on the 'fairer' sex?

For me:

It does not matter what type of vintage clothing. What matters is how well it is carried.

I find it awkward to sometimes see people wearing vintage clothing, yet it is noticable that they are not truly comfortable wearing it. Sometimes this makes the entire outfit (which on its own is great) look silly.

Below a few examples of gentlemen / fellas I find excellent examples showing what makes a man exciting.

The individuals below all have one thing in common which I personally find very attractive:
Charm, charisma, curiosity, a hint of sophistication, a certain cheekyness and humour, combined with healthy self confidence. Whatever they wear, it always looks 'natural'.

Formal

David Niven , Fred Astaire , Leonardo di Caprio

Both David Niven and Fred Astaire belong to a list of my favourite personalitlies.

I have added di Caprio because I have always struggled with him as an actor, but ever since I have seen him in 'catch me if you can' and 'the aviator' (above), my opinion changed. He gave an excellent performance as Howard Hughes.

Smart

Gary Cooper, Jean Paul Belmondo, Gary Grant, Rod Taylor

Gary Cooper, the silent one. The Rock in the Storm.

Belmondo, another of my favourites, what a smile!

Gary Grant, I enjoy his movies and all the silly faces he pulls

I do like scarfes and hats on male.

Casual

Henry Fonda, Sammy Davis, Henry Fonda (again), Belmondo (again)

I love shirts! The above are some interesting examples.

And, maybe a bit off topic, but I love when old is mixed with new in a stylish manner:

Fiction

Gary Oldman, Laurence Fishburne, Christian Bale

I have watch 'Dracula' at least 8 times so far, it is aesthetically very satisfying and Gary Oldman is very erotic as Count Dracula.

Laurence Fishburne, another favourite. Whatever he wears, he carries it well.
In 'The Matrix' his outfit is perfect for his character in the movie.

Christian Bale in 'Equilibirum'. One of the least exciting examples, (forgive me) but I do like him in this movie. Great military inspired outfits.

I could go on and on ... in short:

I do appeal to you male readers: it is enormously exciting to observe men that dress with style. Keep going! :D :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

I don't like feminine men. I like a man's man.
Nothing is as sexy as a man that knows how to treat a lady, knows how to wear a suit and most especially that knows how to work on things ;)

Okay, my top two:

Yul Brynner (in large part because he was a gentleman. My mother used to tell me how he would come backstage after every single show - she danced in The King and I with him - and thank everyone, from the stars to the chorus. Big stars never do that.)

And Vincent D'Onofrio. (Check him out in the The Whole Wide World: http://www.sonypictures.com/classics/www/multimedia/multimedia.html . If I am ever going to be jealous of Renee Zellweger, that would be why right there.)

Or should I say my top two for the moment? I never quite seem able to make up my mind.

Which is, of course, half the fun.
