Half Sizes? How do you handle those?

You & I both know the accuser was not you; no bad blood there. When accused anyone with half a brain could check with the bartender to document that the post had Not been taken down by said bartender, & that infact no such post had been made by anyone. It was guilt by insinuation, lies from the get go. Any totally off topic at the time.
No accusation here....I was just joking because my wife is a smart ass and I have learned she gives as well or better than she gets.....I have the scars to prove it.

Handsome, are you denying that you once accused me of posting a derogatory post about your wife, whom I know nothing about? And I think this was even after the incident you refer to. When I confronted you, you then shifted it to being posted by BB. When he confronted you about t you then claimed that either the poster or the bartender took it down so fast because it was so vile, that you were so mad you didn't actually see who posted it. As I said anyone could confirm with the bartender at the time to learn that no such post about your wife was made by anyone.

So are you now denying that happened involving me & BB? Be careful with your answer.

Someone did post a comment on my wife (I never mentioned a child as he later alleged). That person cowardly deleted the post and denied making it.

Never saw a negative comment posted about your wife or children here but I remember your accusations about it towards a member and you were challenged about it. You deleted your posts in regards to the matter but I don’t recall the offending posts that you claim.

I never accused anyone of saying anything about my children, but you made that up out of thin air some time back. There was a comment about my wife telling me to “STFU”...jogging any memories?

If I conflated you an BB at some point you have my apologies. I think I apologized once for that already; what more do you want? What’s the point in repeatedly bringing it up?

If you want to have a bartender pull BB’s deleted post that’s fine with me.

Handsome, you never apologized. You deleted your posts that had not timed out yet & locked down your profile. You act as if it never happened but fortunately there are copies & the bartenders response to document that it did.

I did apologize to you. Twice now. Let this be a third time: it was not you who made a post that mentioned my wife. I mixed you up with someone else and I apologize for that mixup. I deleted those posts as the conversation was not to anyone’s advantage and I wanted to move on. The deleted post that mentioned my wife (NOT from you) is also archived.

I see you chose to ignore my comments about your previous promises about leaving. let me know when you plan to leave The Lounge...it must be getting close to January 1, 2020. Or did you conveniently forget that? Until then, I’m back to blocking people: I reset my setting when all the ads started and I see nothing has changed.

Handsome, you have totally lost it, just like when you made your original claim about me.

Want me to direct you to the post where you said you were leaving in January 2020? I’d be glad to help you if you need your memory jogged. I think I took a screenshot of it.

Realize that you were the one who brought this up again. You did. You need to just let it go and move on and not bring this up again and again for a cheap gotcha. Make your arguments on their merits.

Handsome, sure post where I promised to leave. I remember thinking & probably posting that 10K posts might be a good time to leave with what had happened to the FL. But I never made any promise. What would be the point that f that? What I did do is trim down to only about 4-5 hats treads that I normally just post in unless called out to another. So be my guest to show me where I promised any such thing. What would be the point of that anyway; why not just leave?

mom done for tonight but will look for your proof tomorrow in the morn.

Size does matter. I have no pic handy to post & my hat is boxed for the summer months, but I have a custom made & fit to me hat that is 61.2 (or 61.3 cm can't remember which) & marked accordingly. I was custom fit with a conformateur. As far as the block goes I assume a 61cm block was built up to match the reading and the paper shape that was taken. Had the reading been a 61.250 or 61.275 I'm sure it would have been built up accordingly. It's no different than a custom bootmaker building up a standard boot last to fit & conform to the measurements he has taken of your feet.
Size does matter is a valid point, especially when ordering online. UK & US Imperial sizes differ slightly and therefore their metric equivalent will differ too. My experience has been to err on slightly too large rather than too small, although I always put my hat size in both UK Imperial and metric. My wife is a gem at making things fit. Only one hat has ever needed adjusting and all she did was to swap the sweat band for a thicker one.

Leather sweatbands are great for getting good fit. A good sweat will reach right out and grip your head. I received one custom from Gannon, blocked on the same block as all the others, that fit just a tad loose when I got it. One lunch hour, I plopped it on my head and took a walk through a nearby park. When I returned, I hung it on the peg in my office. When it was time to go home, I put it on and the looseness had gone, giving me a great fit. It still fits great to this day, several years later.

With all of the hats I have, the fit range is pretty great. Some tighter, some looser. The tighter ones are good for windy days.

I used the smaller block now and managed to 'form' it afterwards with my hands a little bit bigger. Also the shape got well. We'll see if it fitts my friend... :D A conformateur would be my dream but maybe someday:)

There are more simple conformateurs out there, unfortunately I don't have a link handy right now and can't remember who was selling them (JW Hats?). A couple of our Members have tried their hands at making homemade ones. Here are a couple of links to photos, etc.

Firstly, thanks for being such a great community! I'm new to the world of mad hatters :) I've learnt a huge amount from this blog, found wonderful suppliers as I commence my journey. I was hoping I could ask a few questions... my passion is with fedora's, #52 hat block is what I'm about to order... can you please suggest a size block I should start with that provides me some flexibility and are band blocks essential? Is 1cm sufficient for sweatband? Or please direct me to any posts I may have missed. I do intend to add all of my learning to my site when I'm up and running to help any new hatters :)
