Hair Question

Hey fellas what's a good hair product to use to get the Valentino slicked back look? Ya know, the old plastered down/shiny hair look. I've been trying to get this down with products like Brill Cream, Vitalis, and Murray's Pomade but to no avail. Apologies if this has been asked before. I'm new here and tried a forum search on this subject but couldn't find anything.

Thanks!

I use Murray's basically every day to get this look. You have to use a fair load of it to get it shiny, and preferably apply it right after a shower. If you apply it when your hair is dry it won't get the same effect.

I've found that for the perfect hold/shine ratio, comb it back with the Murray's, and then put on just a LITTLE dollop of brylcreem. It loosens the Murray's hold a little, and makes it less chunky PLUS the brylcreem gives it the shine that Murray' doesn't.

I use Black & White for hold, topped off with a little Sweet Georgia Brown (in the red tin) for shine. Apparently Sweet Georgia Brown stopped production last year though, so stockpile it now if you see it.

IMO

1. It works!

2. Cheap!

3. Easy to find in stores.

4. Does NOT leave a grease deposit in your hatband!!!

Use one of the products mentioned in combination with a good boar hair brush. The brush will give you that slick, plastered look....much more so than a comb.
