Through chance I caught part of an interesting television program just now called "Anatomy for Beginners". It is hosted by a man called Gunther Von Hagens who enjoys wearing a fedora. You may or may not have heard of him, his work is quite controversial.

I was wondering what the Lounge thinks of the occasions where he chooses to sport this hat? And what kind of hat they believe it to be?

I'm choosing to be very brief about it here because apart from perhaps not being appropriate I'm sure some may find it all quite offensive and upsetting.

NOTE: Please do not visit this link if you do not wish to see among other things, skinless human bodies.

Several pictures of the man and his hat and information about what he does can be found here.

If the Bartenders do not wish this to be mentioned here I apologise for having brought it up.

People who knew him when he was still had a job at a real university and made pubescent jokes about the dead bodies, sitting on legs to break the bones, told me he started wearing his hat when he started being bald.

Apart from this, it also conveniently fits into his "artist" attitude.

A black fedora seems to be his trade mark. He's apparently never seen without it.

Unusual or controversial he may be, but his anatomy exhibit, Body Worlds, at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science has been viewed by some 675,000 since March. Bodies are all "plastinated". No blood and no smell.
