Congrats! That's one the most beautiful Grizzlies I've seen to date. It looks great on you and this combo is so nice.

Btw. last year in February I was discussing with Ken Calder (Aero) about following shal collar Grizzly.

He recommended Rust Mouton and their new brown Kelpie HH. A checked tartan cotton would be super authentic.
According to him a Grizzly really should have a grommit zipper to look it’s best and to be period correct.

I haven't ordered it so far but whenever I say a Grizzly it pops up again in my mind. I just want to avoid that I look disguised in such a jacket.

I was also after a shawl collar one too myself. And I've found this Rainbow one, but they stop making it for now. It has the inside fur hem. Very cool.

There was also another one I think Cushman did many years back that was a direct Laskin copy with the multi panel back. Those are interesting too.

Aero for the money gives the most Grizzly jacket. If they did the shawl collar one I'd hit it for sure. £700 vs ¥200,000/¥300,000 is an easy choice. Aero gives way more material for less money. But if the Japanese repros do the Laskin repros again I am also willing to pay their "perceive value/design" tax, just to get that Laskin style.

The Grizzly is really awesome jacket design. I don't know why I have over looked it for so long. I was so excited about my Aero one I almost wanted to get another one... Must resist... But the shawl collar...

I saw the RC Shawl collar one also on Buyee but the sizing seems to be strange as size 36 seems to be bigger than it is supposed to be (maybe a mistake by the seller). I‘m pretty sure that Aero can still make this one if you ask Ken directly. But now I want exactly your Grizzly but I‘m not sure if my little daughter will still recognize me as her dad ;)

Very nice. This was when they were still using real fur like Beaver fur. And doctors endorsed cigarette smoking.

Love that price $11.75. Back when a Sears catalogue house (smaller one) would cost under a grand.

At least 80 years old and still holding up very well. Just some wear on the inside collar which is expected. I am surprised the front and back panels kept up so well.

The extra rivets at the bottom of the zip - Are these part of the zipper box like Hookless or are they put there to secure the zip tape?

These are the pics from the original listing. Jacket is still 'in transit', I hope it'll be delivered some day.

I think the main zip is a replacement and they've installed revits where it originally had grommets.

Had a guy email me asking about this jacket, said he was referred by a friend. I do not know who is the friend.

I sent Detailed info on the maker, style. He wanted to sell, so I ask for measurements. He sends them, and it is large. He wants an offer. Tell him they are of interest to many.

I make him a legit offer to start things off. Don't hear from him. Then this post.

Really burns me! I basically give him a free appraisal so he can use it to bargain with someone else Against me. Not again.

I actually know better, but a "friend" was involved so I waived my rules. Not again.

This is not the 1st time, but will be the last.

I will no longer provide free appraisals or other defining information. If you, or a friend, has something to sell, price it.

When I sell I price, I don't ask for offers

Another brick in the wall.

You may refer them to me next time.
Good idea, but only after I have received my nominal appraisal fee.

Yes, I can offer a list of Top Shelf buyers for their consideration, you included. No fee to be on the list. (I know you as a Top Shelf buyer and there are others to be added). Who to go to first will take some thought.

I'm putting together my new policy and will be posting in buy and sell soon.

Thanks for the idea!

To be fair, this is not entirely true. Not that long ago I showed interest in the shearling lined Windward. You shared pics, measurements, and asked me to come up with a price which I did. I made a legit offer but never heard from you again.

Curious if anyone knows about the Joe mccoy / rmc grizzly. Seen a few diff patterns with /without belt and other minor detail changes.
