I love the pink photo thread and the green one... So here's a thread for beautiful blue vintage! I found this dress just googling "blue 1940's vintage dress", maybe by "Carlyle".. It's navy silk... Gorgeous!

I would agree if the color look any good on me Hadley. Unfortunately I look terrible in powder colors, give me rich jewel tones any day. :) On other people I think it's lovely though!

Ok ... then we can move on, no problem, what do you think of this aquamarine blue gown Grace Kelly is wearing? I personally think the color is so restrained so subtle and elegant,,,, i love it! ( and no, it's no green )

That is a gorgeous gown! I agree, only certain people can pull off the pastels. I'm what they call an "autumn", with red hair and hazel eyes. Pastels make me look washed out or sick, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a lovely dress.

MissElainey: I love deep bright blues. Cobalt(?) blues look fabulous on me, I think they might work for you too. I'm a pale red-haired hazel-eyed gal. Pastels are lovely and I love powder blue. I'm not sure if I looked washed out, it was dark outside!

Oh yes, I love the darker blues, especially cobalt. I also love vintage hats. Isn't this one just divine? Saw it on ebay, but couldn't afford it, alas.

Jean Shrimpton, right? Mmmmmm . . . .

Yes, that's correct! It is Jean Shrimpton! :)

I personally think it's a myth to think that pastels don't look good on redheads, it all depends really, it can look very nice like these photos prove!

Ohhh, Grace's gown is gorgeous! It's almost a minty or seafoam color... so so pretty.

I can't say if blue is necessary my most flattering color, but I kid you not, I have at least ten vintage dresses that are light blue. I guess I'm just naturally drawn to that color; my walls, floor, bed canopy, and many of my things are also a robin's egg or dark blue. It's sort of odd now that I think about it... I wonder if other people have noticed.
I don't wish to overload you all with pictures of my monochromatic wardobe, haha, but here are some pics of my own blue dresses I found in my flickr:

This one's green and blue brocade; it's bluer in person:

Yes, i agree with you. Blue is also my favorite color, all shades of blue!

As far as i can remember most of my clothes have been blue. When it comes to bedroom decor, also, it has been blue ... no other color will do for my bedroom!

At the present time my bed looks exactly like that photo ... pale blue .... easy on the eye...lovely blue :)
