Got another hatshaper and need help!

....this time it's a Fedora hatshaper. Turns out some of my hats didn't take to the straight-sided dome and hand-bashing them didn't give me the results I wanted. So I got this one:

I sprayed the hat and put it on the shaper. How do I get it to conform permanently to the shape of the shaper?

Teardrop blocks are mostly (if not exclusively) used for panamas and westerns. The great thing about felt is that you can crease it with your hand. I've used a panama block on felt before, blocking in wet. I also have a tipper, though, which forms the teardrop from the outside pressing in. hmm.. I'd say get the hat wet and mold the felt to the shape of plastic with your hands.

Jason, for the the crown, I think, a hot sandbag, could work.
For the side dents also.

That's pretty much what I'm doing----molding it into shape with my fingers. So far so good. Thanks Ale.

Yes, that's what I was wondering---something heavy to place on it. Where does one get a sandbag?

Burlap bag, small pillow, filled with sand. Anything you can filled with sand. Microwave to make hot.

You can make one, sand's pretty cheap and an old pillow case.

i have used rice in a thick sock or thick pillow like bag, slap it in the micro wave. stays very warm very long.. also good for sore aching muscles & bones, no stains nothing, ive done this to smooth out vintage finds along with steam works too...
