Goodwear Ventura 42/44

I got this jacket from Terry several years ago and absolutely love it but it is just not getting enough time out of the stable. It is time to move it on to someone to put some real wear into it. It is of course another prime example from JC, made from shinki horse with a Monarch tag and not size label. In the time I have owned it it has had less than 20 days wear and is just starting to show it's goodness. There are a couple of small issues with the lining, it has separated at the wrist a bit on one sleeve and has a small rub through at the bottom hem (see in photos). There is also a small dark patch of leather on the back of one arm, it was like that when I received it and is starting to soften and blend with the wear I have put on it. Feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Measures:
Shoulder to shoulder back: 19.5"
Chest, pit to pit front: 23.5"
Length from collar seam down back: 25.25"
Sleeve, shoulder seam to end of cuff: 24.5

Is the lining rayon or cotton?

I believe it is rayon. Certainly not cotton. It is very easy to slip on over other clothing.

John (JC) Chapman told me this was his first Ventura. A custom order that began his Ventura model. You can blame the sleeve issue on me. That area got wet. I never made an effort to "fix" it. Never really looked into it. That is the only issue with this jacket.

I've owned a few Goodwear Jackets:

This is the best fitting GW jacket I owned. I found it more to be a size 44. I believe JC told me it was around a 46. It has no size tag as it was a custom order. To me JC's Ventura was a small 44 and I found the size 46 to be correct for me.

This is a different fitting jacket than the standard Ventura. By that I mean a better fitting jacket. Odd it has not sold given this is the prototype for JCs popular Ventura.

Sorry if I butted in here, but this is a Special jacket and as nice as any GW jacket I have owned and better fitting.

Thanks for chiming in Terry. Im not worried about getting it sold as I am still quite hesitant to get rid of it. As you say the fit is great and if I was wearing it more there would be no question on keeping it. If it does not sell I won't hesitate to keep it and wear it on occasion, no worries.

This was a custom made jacket. (not for me) It is not like the standard Ventura and I don't know how to describe the difference. It seemed to be a fuller cut, a bit more flair. I felt like this one was made for me unlike the other Venturas I owned.

I see it as a prototype by a significant maker in the leather jacket world.
