Goodwear Dubow 1755 A-2 48 in seal brown horsehide and dull purple wool cuffs. Just six months old with light use. Used for the first time on a trip over New Years and decided it just didn't flatter me (not thin enough). There is light wear with minor scratches here and there as per a used leather jacket, and some dye loss around the cuffs. The dye loss around the right cuff is considerably more pronounced than the left. John assures me originals were the same way and dye loss around the cuffs is to be expected. The stitching is good and no other traumas or defects to speak of. Here is a link to an identical jacket when new:

I'm 6'2", 200 lbs. with a 41" chest and the jacket fits me very comfortably. The measurements are as follows and were taken when laid flat:

Chest: 23.5"
Shoulders: 19.5"
Sleeves: 25.75"
Back: 25.5"

Is that chest size correct? For a 48?

Hi, Butte. I measured it across the front from pit to pit and it came out as a 23.5". Maybe it's 24", but I measured it as 23.5". Bear in mind this is WWII sizing, which is different. Plus, it's just whatever John wants to call it. Hope this helps.

Scott, remember you'll need to go with the measured size, but GW jackets are invariably tagged a size larger. So, my GW A-1 is a 46, but fits as a trim, modern 44.

Ditto what the doc said. I remember being upset when I saw John made me a 48. I thought he made me the wrong size. But it fits as well as an A-2 will on me.

Thanks guys. I know the tags are just tags as I have jackets with 48/50/52, XXL/XXXL. All over the place.
