Thanks! There are some times I might be called an overachiever... but it was pure coincidence that the weekend the jacket arrived, I found out there was a B-17 visiting at the local airport.
Re; you in a brand spanking new B-6 and a B-17 just being there there next day ... Kismet, I'd say! Wow ! Stunning photos there, Foster !!! Love them ! Well done, Sir. And your B-6 looks perfect !
As for the GW B-6, it's interesting for me to see the alternative strap/buckle waist adjusters - I knew that they were also used on the B-6, but I'd never seen them ... They look good to me, but personally, I prefer the zips. And I have to say that adjusting them is a cinch! <groan> (Sorry!).
The B-6 looks very nice and authentic though. It's a winner.
I still have to get a few photos of me wearing my new (to me) ELC B-6 that was made about 8 years ago, so the leather has the original shiny and rich finish a la "The Golden book". What a coup it was for me to get this - and it's virtually unworn and minty condition ... it fits perfectly too! I lifted it off its hangar just last week for the very first time since its arrival mid-Summer and it's just perfect for those chilly Fall mornings with one layer beneath it ... I love it.
I've got a slew of photos yet to post and regale the tale of how the zips and label were changed by ELC - I just need to find a day where I can wear it to work and get some photos taken ...
In the meantime, here's a wee sneak peek ...
