You've obviously never dealt with JC et al @ Good Wear because if you had, you'd know that's just not the case.

I had a small issue with the liner of my Ventura - almost two years after buying - and JC fixed it free, and shipped it free.

So, before making such an ill-informed statement, think twice.

PS - to the OT - congrats on the superb fix. You'll only love it more with time.

Err, I think you mis-took my meaning there Butte..... unless you think it was a bad thing that he re made the jacket?

Like I said, I think its amazing customer service that he would remake a jacket that had such a minor cosmetic glitch, GW is definitely on my list now....that modoc is gorgeous.

So I'm now on the Goodyear waiting list, at this stage I'm looking at a Modoc. I've got plenty of time obviously to decide or change my mind but I'm just wondering if the Shinki HH option adds a surcharge? I didnt see it mentioned on the website anywhere.

No, Shinki is the Horsehide John uses. It used to list different prices for Goat and Horse, but I think they are now the same.

Please forgive my ignorance, but what is a Modoc?

JC has several new hides available, above and beyond the Shinki, including a really sharp steerhide.

You guys are making it real hard for me to suppress my jacket addiction. The Madoc is a nice one, for sure. Pretty sure if I was going to pull the trigger today it'd be for an Arcadia in dark seal.

Wow, what an ass. The jacket looked great as is. Best of luck with it...wear it well.

Tommer, anyone who pins a pic of their jacket up here gets a raft of opinions, offered for the best part politely and honestly, you take them or leave them. As it is, the jacket was remade with the breast pocket moved and to me it looks great, which again, y'know, is just an opinion. [huh]

Of course some people's opinions may be better than others. Subjectivity only goes so far. A six ft guy who wants their highwayman with a back length of 11 inches is unlikely to find any supporters here or on other sites regarding jackets, so there is a line.

I hope I'm here for the day that someone suggests a bolero Highwayman. :D

You know, you're right, Sloan. Much as I would hate the look of it, and be generally appalled, I'd be fascinated to see someone try this. Who knows, the kids in 5 years may covet this look.

Apologies, ProteinNerd. When I read it, it sounded like you meant he did it "only" because of the post here. I had four days off camping with fresh air and see the error of my ways.

Yes, indeed, it's amazing, but unsurprising. Again, apologies.

Both the GWs posted here are beautiful. The offerings by GW, BK, Aero, Eastman, Al, Japanese makers, in this style are amazing. What great choices are out there. I've got a BK Dodger on order. Love that Californian label.
