John, to not waste the money trying to sell the new jacket after just trying it on, without even wearing it outside - I'd try to return it back to GW because it looks at least 2 sizes smaller than size 44 which is marked on its sizetag.
I suppose, it would be the best decision in this case.
This jacket really deserves someone in size 40 or 40L to wear it thankfully. You shouldn't waste your money because of wrong sizetag on the jacket.
JC is the real gentlemen and the very nice man, so just try to communicate with him and I'm almost sure he would help you in this case to resolve the situation with this jacket well.
If you don't agree with my point - please just skip it.
P.S. The jacket is absolutely wonderful, someone in size 40 or 40L would be happy to wear this beaut.

I agree it isn't a size 44, but JC does list the measurements -so no real surprises there.

Actually the measurements weren't given, or asked for. So there was a surprise.
There was an error on my part for not measuring on a flat surface, I double and triple measured and double and triple came up with the wrong number(s). SO stupid on my part. Taking the measurements at the foot of the bed (with comforter on)made the jacket elevate enough in the middle to throw off the numbers. Re-measured an listed changes
Sleeves 25.5
P2p 23
Shoulder 2 shoulder 18.5.

Needed to fix MY MISTAKE OF BEING AN IDIOT.
