I picked this up for a whim and about a buck at a thrift store. i haven't yet figured out what it was, or originally was and what it was last used for.
Concealed camera comes to mind. Looks like it may have had some military use? Some kind of drum magazine pouch?
Anybody have any ideas???

Fascinating. I've never seen a mag. pouch with a lock so I'm ruling that out but I'll be awaiting the Brains Trust input with interest!

The fastener doesn't look military at all. Any sign of a broad arrow stamp? If it was British military, it'd be there somewhere.

First thing that occurred to me was that it was a case for one of those time clocks carried by night security guards back in the day.

No military markings at all and I am well familiar with the "broad arrow." Guard clock pouch sounds very likely now.
