Here's a christmas themed tie from the golden era. Probably a late 30s or early 50 tie (i can't quite decide). Whichever, it was an expensive tie in it's day. $3.50 according to the very faded price tag on the back of the maker's label. Sold by Linn & Scruggs Co. in Dectur Illinois. It is rayon or silk crépe with hand-painted holly, or mistletoe, or something in between. Holly leaves, but yellow (?) berries. Very odd. Made by "Regal". About 54" long, so the larger chaps can get this one round their necks without looking like Oliver Hardy! A rarity for vintage ties.
Generally good condition. Some spreading of the paint into the crépe around some of the leaves . . . nothing serious.
