Golden Era "overlap"?

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this question has been asked before (perhaps even by yours truly), but I'm curious how much "overlap" there was between what we refer to the Golden Era and more modern movements?

From perusing our fave auction site, I notice that many Art Deco-esque items which I would assume to be made in the 1930s to 1940 were actually made a bit later.

Same with buildings... there are some interesting examples here in London that were made after what I would assume to be the peak of the Art Moderne/Deco period.

Nowadays, it seems we move on so quickly that it'll make your head spin. Well... maybe not quite - I still see many a mullet on the street.

Indeed... a truly timeless hair-do (or hair-don't).

the 'art deco' period refers to the height of the art deco movement; the period between the first and second world wars. however the deco styling and motifs on objects, packaging and architecture etc. carried on well into the 50s. it was a slow fizzling out rather than an abrupt end.
