This came my way recently. I knew the original owner, who passed away a couple of years ago. His widow told me he had had it a long time. I went through it for some kind of label but there is nothing, anywhere. It is lined in a plain olive blanket wool and I'm sure this is a replaced lining. It's quite heavy, and though it has been worn a lot and shows a lot of grain, it's still quite stiff.
It smelt of mothballs and had some rough places but Pecard's took care of it.
It's just oversized enough to wear a bulky sweater underneath. I wish I could say it was older, but I'm thinking early 70s. The widow thought much older, but she thought the reason there were no tags is that it predated such things, so that's no help.
The belt is missing, and three buttons have been removed on one side. I guess he didn't expect to want to button it the other way.
