I can't wait to see it.

I knew that the British soldiers would dye the white helmets in coffee and dirt so they wouldn't stand out as much. I'm not ready to do that to mine though.

It’s the first video I want to do. I have a LO head shape and squeezing the helmet should make it fit properly. Another home project my wife will think I am insane.

Thanks Johnny! Yours looks pristine!
Thanks. And thanks for the reminder. I have been thinking of giving it a bit of a brushing, get the dust off, then hitting it with Scotchguard to help protect it and keep the dirt and grime from getting into it.

Also, I saw this on the International Military Antiques website and thought I'd try my hand at it. Here is a link to the history of it.

It's not exact, but it looks good on my shelf. I'm not sure where I'll wear it yet.

Not sure where you will wear it? Odd question. Chill in the yard having a beer would be the top of my list.
Looks great. Have fun wearing it.
Now that’s it’s all fancy, you need a second “working pith for yard work. ;)

Thanks Johnny. I have a yard work pith but I do need a Wolseley yard one. Thanks for the advice.

It'll be 85* here in Texas. I hope your Canadian weather warms up soon.

Just like yours, my Vietnam made pith helmets clips have shattered and the sweat bands have disintegrated over the years. By years I mean the last 17 years. I have made my own replacement sweat bands over the years to keep them going but have always been tempted to buy new pith helmets to replace my old, nasty, worn ones. looking at the village hat shop, they now carry more colour options including white….. soooo tempting. Now, how to get a purchase like that past the wife.
