Ghost signs

Raleigh tobacco sign used to cover a hole. Exposed as the facade on this old building in Willow Springs, Missouri begins to crumble away.

This isn't really a ghost sign, as it's new, but I made a stop at Little Fish brewing downtown the other day and found this on the old building they're in.

It matches the style of some of the old ghost signs in town, which is pretty cool.

Much better than the "ghosting" done to the former Frisco (BNSF) Railroad office building here in Springfield, MO.

You kinda hate to see such a lost opportunity. And it cost real money to do it, too.

The bottom is the before photo — from a prior pass of the Google Earth camera car. I thought it was a ghostly sign when I took the top photo, but it was just a difference in weathering of the brick. The loss here is the closing of another small town pharmacy.
