"Get Low" Vest custom made

okay guys, i know a long time ago i posted i was getting the vest made from the movie GET LOW. It is still one of my top favorite movies, well i've had it for a while just haven't had time to take photos. So i got it made from the people at the quartermaster shop, they did an amazing job. This is 21 oz wool, and its fit to my measurements, so it fits amazing. This is for daily wear, i didn't get it made for a costume, i saw the movie and wanted the vest worn by robert duvall, and i will honestly say the i plan on working with the quartermaster shop again for sure. There customer service was amazing. They worked with every detail, even button size.

Good movie. QM shop looks to have done a great job on the vest.
With the 21 oz. wool, this vest is the pefect winter garment.

thanks guys, i love it. I'm in discussion with the quartermaster shop to make the coat worn by Daniel Day Lewis "there will be blood". I'm hoping there able to make it. Again i will say these guys do a great job at making clothes. They work well with there customers as well. What i find interesting is they never heard of the move "Get Low" when i mentioned it, and they also said they had never seen a vest like the one i had made. But in the end they did an excellent job.
It does keep me warm, and fits like a glove.

What coat are you referring to? Was it an overcoat or part of the three piece Lewis wears in the film?

I believe that style of vest was called a "gunslinger's vest", wasn't it? They were deliberately cut that way so that the fabric of the waistcoat wouldn't get in the way of the gun's belt and holster and wouldn't catch or snag when the weapon was drawn.

I don't think it was a gunslingers thing. Period vests look to be cut straight across and sitting at the waist like this one.

the coat is what i'm going to get made, the only thing they cant do is the corduroy for the collar, they are going to use another type of fabric.
it will take 10 weeks to make, and under 300 dollars, not bad price for a custom coat i might add, and that includes shipping. Yes the vest is similar to a gunslinger vest, ive recieved comments of nice civil war vest as well.

i bet qmaster shop could make his 3 piece suit, when i got the vest made they said someone got the new sherlock holmes 3 piece suits he wore in the movie made. So its a shot.

Very nice choice. I am surprised they cannot do corduroy on the collar. Did they specify why?

this is the e-mail from them. They did say if i found double sided corduroy and send it to them they could use it. They only have black buttons though, but i can just go and buy brown buttons.

Yes, we could probably make the coat, but unfortunately don't have the brown cotton corduroy for the collar and facing. It appears to be a wide wale style which is very difficult to find these days. The coat appears to be a medium brown color of (probably ) wool. We do have a brown wool coating that would work nice for this coat. Also, I don't have any brown buttons like in the picture but do have black.

Although the sleeves appear very short in the picture, I would suggest having them made to the typical length to help keep your hands warm. Typical length would be to the crotch of the thumb. I believe our size 40Tall would be best to meet this length. If you preferred to maintain the look of the movie, a 40Regular would be best.

If you can come up with some corduroy for the collar, and can accept our black buttons, price would be $279.00 plus $18.00 shipping. This would include the brown 20 ounce wool with brown light weight cotton lining (except for the facing and collar which would be the corduroy) with two exterior waistline patch pockets and one exterior left breast inset pocket. Delivery about 10 weeks after order confirmation.
