Edelweiss fedora in green velour. Size 56 (but feels smaller) with the raw edge brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. As expected it's Swiss made, but I'll admit I did also expect some more precision from the Swiss. The felt is wonderful (colour aside), but the finishing is mediocre at best. The sweatband is toast, the ribbonwork a bit sloppy and the liner is sagging. It can all be remedied, but still...
Looks like it's from 1961.

Stefan, This Velour is from Oberbayerische Hutfabrik gmbH. Miesbach. Usually they look better than this one so maybe it got messed up along the way. I am not sure about the possible date numbers.

Rehfus fedora in green. Size 56 with the underwelt brim at 6cm and the crom at 10,5cm at the center dent. Attractive shape to this one and an interesting ribbon treatment. Some damage to the brim edge and the reed, but very wearable (if you like green;)). Don't know about the age, but I have not seen a Rhefus label like this one before.

Stefan, Great find! I really like the look of this one. Good sporting look. I don't believe I have seen that sweatband logo. The paper label format is similar but I don't believe I have seen that logo on a paper label but I have this somewhat similar logo on a liner.

Thanks for the clarification, Steve: Now that you've said and shown it, I remember “Edelweiß-Hut”. It's interesting that Stefan's hat appears to have a different paper label format - 1961, slightly later than the examples on your site. That also confused me, because I put it together with a group of labels that have the “Farbe”, “Form”, “Qual.” and “Com.” underneath each other in a similar way - this is also the case with stiff felts, but I'll look for it soon...

Thank you, Steve. I was too hasty with the conclusion that the Edelweiss was Swiss made. I think it can be saved and made to look better than it does now. because the felt really is very good.
As for Rehfus: I will go for those as soon as I see them.
