I know that Mayser had the license to make Stetson Hats in Germany. Your hat could be later when Friedrich W. Schneider (F.W.S.) Köln took over the Stetson brand for Europe which they have to this day. F.W.S. sourced hats from different hat companies. Is this the only paper label behind the sweatband?
As I mentioned above It's also possible Oberwalder Wien or some other company in Austria had the license for Stetson when this hat was made but I would have to look into that.
Mayser "In 1954, Curt M. Zechbauer's son, Peter M. Zechbauer, acquires the licence of the American hat factory of Stetson for Mayser."

Can you please provide a photo of the Stetson foil stamp at the rear of the sweatband?
Thank you for posting the photo. The reason I asked is Mayser used a similar foil stamp in probably the same time period as your Stetson (see photo). I think it's highly likely Mayser made your Stetson and Overland Wien sourced from Mayser. Looking forward to seeing your P. & C. Habig Wien Homburg. Thanks for your nice reply and all the background information you gave In fact this is a very nice hat in almost mint condition, not even dusted. Plus I got it for only 10 EUR which I regard as a real bargain. I also got a 60s Habig Homburg hat from the same seller. I will post photos later when I am back from holidays.
Back to the Stetson/Oberwalder hat: it does not seem to have any other paper label, only this Stetson foil stamp at the sweatband as you indicated:

Absolutely gorgeous, Steve. Love it from top to toe, inside and out. The liner is the icing inside the cake.Ottmar Reich, measures 58cm, possibly 1920s. I found this Straw back in November 2016 but I didn't realize until recently it originally had a Mother of Pearl button at the bottom of the Bow. I searched around and found a vintage Mother of Pearl button that worked so here it is again.
The white thread at the bottom of the Bow was the location of the original Mother of Pearl button. This photo is from 11/11/2016.
Steve, Thank you! I agree about the Liner. It might be older than the 1920s. I really like this one. It's very light in weight. I will take it for a spin next week.Absolutely gorgeous, Steve. Love it from top to toe, inside and out. The liner is the icing inside the cake.

It's a beauty. Not a surprise, as they were a straw hat manufacturer first and foremost.Ottmar Reich, measures 58cm, possibly 1920s. Steve, Thanks! Good info regarding the Art Deco logo.Looking forward to seeing it on your spin, Steve.
The Art Deco style logo says 1920s / 1930s to me.

Stefan, Thank you for posting the photos! It's great to see a J. Heinr. ITA. I think it's an older one too.Not my hat, but worth posting for posterity because they rarely pop up.
J. Heinr. Ita extra qualität fedora in a size 56. Listed as marine blue, but you wouldn't say that from the pictures.

Super find, Steve.Resistol - R. & M. Wegener "Majestic" "Self Conforming" "Kitten Finish", 58 cm, possibly late 1950s early 1960s. This Homburg Hat was "Made In License In Germany" by R. & M. Wegener. R. & M. Wegener received the license to produce Resistol Hats in 1958. This is a very fine made Homburg Hat and similar quality as branded R. & M. Wegener Homburg Hats of the same time period.

Steve, Thank you! Yes, the Wegener "Colonel".Super find, Steve.
It's quite reminiscent of a Wegener Colonel I have from the same time period.
Cool find, Steve. These licensed Resistols are excellent quality. Don't think I've seen them in colours though.Resistol - R. & M. Stefan, Thanks! I haven't seen a non black Resistol Homburg Hat but my guess is they had them because Wegener had brown, gray and blue Homburg Hats. Could be that there were far less Resistol - Wegener Homburg Hats and black was by far the most common color. That's just a guess.Cool find, Steve. These licensed Resistols are excellent quality.
