Can't leave without at least posting one hat (still have to take pictures of the recent finds). Here's an older one. Der Diplomat in brown, size 56, bound brim at 6,5cm and crown at 10,5 at the pinch. Nice thin ribbon. This one I believe dates from the late fifties or early sixties. Der Diplomat was a brand name and I confess I don't know who actually made the hat.

Stefan, Super find! I am not sure who made it but I would give it a similar dating.

C.G. Wilke, 56cm probably later 1930s. This great looking Velour belongs to Stadt- und Industriemuseum Guben.

The Lining shows an older Logo of Mayser but the sweatband is younger - my guess ist from the 70s or a bit younger! Looks like a red point label on the backside of the sweatband if it's so he is definitely younger a 60s - But a nice Maiser!

My guess is fur felt but it's hard to say - I had some Mayser with a fluffy felt, hard to bring it in shape, that is a cheap wool/felt mix but that's only the younger cheaper Mayser Generation - Normally it is a pure felt hat with that age! I am interested on Steve's opinion! [emoji16]

DAMN, what a piece!! :eek::)
Stefan, Supposedly Friedrich W. Schneider(FWS) of Cologne (Stetson Europe) had the trademark for Hückel in Germany in mid to later 1990s. This kind of looks like a Guben Hat Works production.
Stefan, I think this one might have been made by Mayser in the 1990s.
Trenchfriend and Steve, thanks. I guess in the later years Hückel let the quality slide a fair bit. Never knew about Mayser producing Habig hats. Good to know. It's a fine hat, certainly for a modern one, but not the same quality as their earlier hats.

Steve, thanks. I was kind of hoping you would know who produced the hat. I have seen the brand on a few hats but it's not a very common name. I'll keep an eye out for other and see if the have any clues about the maker.

dunno, i won it there a few minutes ago, paid 30 including postage, it's meeting me at a UK address early next week as I'll be over there. I wouldn't have risked it only I factored in the postage, but it would have cost a tenner more to have it shipped here.
Suggesting a possibility...
