A wonderful Mayser Milz & Cie Black Fedora from Alfred Krug Berlin - Alfred Krug was a Retailer - the sweatband print has a mistake- Berlin with double N
Also found a list from Factories, wholesalers and so on!

Chepstow, since there is a period after the second "N," could it be intentional? Like, Berlin North? or something? There also appears to be more space between the Ns than the other letters.

I have no idea what the meaning is, but something tells me it's not a mistake.

I think you are correct. I have seen Berlin W. used before.

One of my old (late 1920s) hat boxes has Berlin N. (North) for the address. Schönhauser Allee is Berlin North.

Also the telephone registry Manfred posted has N31 designation. I checked and Brunnenstr 54. is also Berlin North.

Manfred, Great find! I brought you luck! This is an early MM. I will need to check on when MM starting making felt hats. They were originally just straw hats. I know I have seen the date before but can't remember where. Does it have a paper label?

It would be interesting to know if his store survived WWII. I believe it would have been in the Soviet Sector.

I tend to think it didn't make it but I will do some checking. I will report back later.

Does the MM have a paper label? I am wondering how it might compared to Mayser Ulm. I don't believe I have seen this old a MM before. Again great find!

The sweatband is also not tipical Mayser Milz - it's a retailer sweatband of Alfred Krug!
