Steve, " Does liner align with the ribbon? " I don't know.

Sorry I meant the bow. :) It looks that way by the crease.

Also I looked closer at the sweatband stitch work on the 56cm Velour. It also has the more typical stitching along with the unusual stitching so double stitched.

WW1 era Oberoesterreichische Hutindustrie. Austrian import and comes with the CLOCKWISE nap typical of pre-WW2 Austrian/German longhairs. Art Fawcett put a wide black sweatband in (with matching gold pipe trim) as the hat didn't come with one. Everything else is original. Sadly, no tags to be found under the liner.

I believe this hat was made by Velour-Hutfabrik Carl Blum, Wels, Austria (Blum-Velour). I found the marke when looking through some of my documentation.

The Big Deal?
I bought 4 unworn and new old stock German hats. All are open Crown.
Two are Velour in Size 53 and 56 and two felt size 53 and 56.
My guess from the mid 40s to the early 50s.
Also new to me the second Mayser Superbe in Dark Brown from the 60s.
The Sweatbands are stiff and dry out over the years. The Quality of the Velour is good. The brown Prima Haarhut has a very stiff felt and has a bit longer hair.

Quite the Motherlode of furry Teutonic lids, Manfred. Ausgezeichnet! :eusa_clap

Palatin, Black, size 59cm. This fantastic hat belongs to the seller of the Gloria Back Bow hat that I recently won. The seller said her father wore this hat on his wedding day (1950). It doesn't appear to have had side dents which is also the case with the Gloria Back Bow. Unfortunately there is no company mentioned on the paper label and I couldn't identify the Palatin liner mark.

Al, thanky you my friend. I think it was a good deal with all the hats. A pity that two hats are so small.

Steve, that is a fantastic hat the Palatin! The shape is the same as the Gloria.
