This one was sitting on a mannequin in a vintage store and caught my eye. Sometimes things are meant to be.
Echter Mayser wildleder (suede/chamois finish) in a size 61 with a contrasting narrow ribbon and brim binding. Bound brim at just under 7cm and crown 10,5cm at the center dent. The hand to the felt is fabulous and I really like the proportions of this hat.

Another one from friday.
Mayser Spezial fedora in brown. Size 57, unlined, with the raw edge brim at 6,5cm and the crown 11cm at the center dent. Easy to date this one: 150 years after 1800 would place it in 1950. Looks about right to me. The cloth crown patch is a nice touch.
Sold by Hut Zeumer in Mannheim, Germany. We've seen quite a few of their hats here on the lounge. The last pic is of their shop in 1903.

One more then? Ok.
Anton Pichler fedora in a colour called mongol mele. Size 53 with the underwelt brim at 5,4cm and the crown at 10cm at the pinch. And a fancy ribbon to boot. There are so many colours in this felt that it's mindboggling. Very nifty little hat (bought it as a gift for someone).

Finally took better pictures of the Hückel Incroyable I shared a while back. For those interested I'm looking to move on either to sell or trade. It's 59cm or thereabouts and just too big for my 57cm head even with lots of foam - so rather see it go to a home where it can be enjoyed.
Wayne, Thank you posting the new photos. Fantastic Velour! Is it brown or green? I am thinking the outside photos are the correct color.

Stefan, Wow! Great color melange! Are some of them synthetic or non fur fiber? Don't see enough Anton Pichler Graz hats.

Nice catches Stefan!!
Thanks for the likes on the German hats, gentlemen. I think they show Mayser at its best The wildleder is a piece of very fine hatmaking.

The Anton Pichler was a nice find as well. Quite flashy with all its colours. Hard to say if there are synthetic or non fur fibers in there. Stroking against the nap you can feel the hairs are more resistent than usual with a long hair finished hat, so maybe a mix of some sort.

That's quite a unique, and as you say, flashy colour on the Anton Pichler.

Wayne, Super! It's beyond difficult to find old German Panama Straw Hats so this is a very rare find. What size is it?

It was quite a bit of luck on my part - a collector in Germany found some deadstock hats - which included the Jota - I got both of them in the same deal! Fortunately for me, both are in a 57 :)

Josef Brunner Wien, Wool, measures 57 cm, seller listed as 1930s but could be later 1920s. There isn't a paper label and I have no production information for Josef Brunner Wien but he is listed in the 1926 Austrian Hat Industry Guide booklet. The liner is especially fantastic. Also great overall form.
