I received additional hat liner print plates (17 pieces) from the Czech Republic. They (99 pieces total so far) were found near Štramberk which is a short distance from Nový Jičín (Neutitschein) where Johann Hückel´s Söhne, Anton Peschel and Brüder Böhm were located (all 3 hat companies are represented). There are some very interesting ones in this latest batch.
Yesterday I've seen the webside of manufacturer "Fiebig".
It seems, that my black felt-flatcap under no-name is from Fiebig, because of the exactly same design and their water-repellent/impragnated-sortiment! And my flatcap IS absolutely water-repellent, what I was wondering, everytime! I've tested it hardly with the bathshower, yesterday. The inner side seems to be impragneted, not outside.
I'm happy.
Frank Allaire Co. Inc. New York. He was the American representative for Brüder Böhm. In special cases he used his trademark. A large part of the import business was with Jobbers. It was very difficult importing hats / felt because of trade issues of the time. All three of the Nový Jičín (Neutitschein) hat companies were suppliers (hats and felt (Hoods, Capelines), machinery, accessories) to American hat companies including The American Hat Company and Stetson. I have more information on my site regarding Frank Allaire Co. Inc. New York under Brüder Böhm.
