Hallo Fastuni,

in alten Zeiten musste man Hüte, Mäntel etc. an der Garderobe abgeben, wenn man ins Theater/Kabarett etc. ging; dafür bekam man kleine Zettelchen wie diese, mit denen man seine Kleidungsstücke wieder auslösen konnte. Ich nehme an, dass die Zettelchen im Hut genau dafür dienten.

To me it could look like an exhibition stand, and the inner room could be a small "negotiation area" for wholesale business deals. Only a guess

I came across an amazing find of what I believe are 1930s NOS hats from O.F. Hess Bohemia (they were located in Karlin / Karolinenthal a suburb of Prague). I purchased 32 hats with a size range of 56 - 60cm.
