German & Austrian Hutmachers

It looks like a J. Hückel´s Söhne (JHS) paper label so I would assume the hat was made by JHS for G. A. Dunn & Co.. The "W" (Weite) means size in German. If you search the G. A. Dunn thread there is another Austrian Velour with the original liner. From what I can remember the liner is very JHS like.

I found it. It's actually further back in this thread. This one appears a bit later but I am pretty sure it was also made by JHS.

I found two old hats on a flea market! The first one, a old Echter Mayser Superbe with stingy brim and an Echter Borsalino Export Quality, both hats
are very dirty! The old Mayser ist stamped, but it's difficult to read, I guess it means 1954! The ribbon was bleached after years from the sun and I removed it,
because, I wanted to turn it over and sew it back after cleaning!
The results are not bad but not 100% I could remove most dirts and stains on both but
the edge binding are not to clean!

Thanks Steve. The Mayser hat is just a, yes , just for fun hat. The sweatband has wrinkles, the edge binding is faded out. The Borsalino is in much better condition as the Mayser!

Nice fleamarket finds.
From left to right - Resolut Homburger Hutfabrik GmbH Savoy, Mayser Ausseer and a Hückel Ausseer!

A short story to Resolut Hutfabrik - google translation!
Hat Factory "Resolut".

The mill was rebuilt in 1710 by Michael Schell head and continued in 1755 by his son Henrich until 1784. About the in-laws nephew Carl Ludwig man from Green City in 1794, she came to Johann Philipp Neeb, the widow of the CL Married man. Died 1803 J. P. Neeb. Subsequent owner, Gerhard Becker, who died in 1840. Other intermediate owner is still unknown. Until 1875 there Walkwerk for the hat factory hoods LF Rousselet, ".

The ancestors of the family Rousselet had emigrated as a Huguenot refugees to Friedrichsdorf and Köppern.

I will take better photos if I have a little bit more time!

Richard, Mike and Steve, thank you! The Ausseer are indeed funny hats. Mostly worn in Bavaria and Austria.
The Savoy is a nice hat. The felt feels soft. I think he is also a bit thicker! Maybe a wool / fur mix!

C.G. Wilke Velour (Guben, Germany), measures ~ 59cm, crown ~ 6 inches open, brim ~ 2 1/2 inches, non-reeded sweatband, 148 grams, probably early 1930s. This one is in very good condition with all original parts. The Velour felt and finish are very high quality. Also a unique light green-blue silk liner. Been looking for one these in my size for a long time. The only other pre 1940 soft felt C.G. Wilke I have is a small size and in below average condition.
