That's a beautiful gray Melone, Steve!! Its interesting how round the crown profile is. Many of the American derbies from this era tend to be flatter on top and squarer on the sides.

Beautiful color and shape! Many sizes and shapes offered concurrently as well as the marketing effort to feature something "new" each season makes these things hard to date...without a stamp:)

Mike, Josh, Robert, Thanks!

I found (might be refound) that Joh. Zehme is a hat store in München.

http://www.zehme-huete.de/

Appears that they were aquired by A. J. Seidl in 1912 so that would account for the liner logo.

Google translation

"A moving history

The Hutfachgeschäft Johann Zehme, former royal purveyor, is founded in 1834 in Lehel.
Already in 1863, is the store for its headwear collection in 7 windows at Marienplatz 8, at the corner of City Hall on fish fountain on display.
In 1912 the exclusive Hutfachladen is assumed by the Hutfabrikanten JA Seidl.
As our company expanded in 1934 there was a move to Marienplatz before the 28th There is, however, the Hutfachgeschäft "sheltered" little: In the middle of World War II, on 25 April 1944, it is destroyed by an air raid.
Two months later, the shop opens again already at 07 July 1944 in the Theatinerstr. 46th But the tragedy: Five months later, it is once again destroyed by a bomb attack.
Peace in Germany: In December 1945, we can give our re-opening the original location at Marienplatz 8, Town Hall corner on fish fountain known.
In 1950 a move to the 51st Theatinerstraße
In 1962 was the re-opening in "Zechbauer-house" instead of Perusastrasse, in the shop, "John Zehme "is traditionally run to this day."

yttclothing, nice Homburger. The first one is an Austrian brand. The other are German or Austrian.
All hats are from the 50s / 60s. What for brands are the other two hats?

The VEB Luckenwalder Velour arrived today. Wonderful felt finish in a outstanding condition. I think rarely worn.
Size is a 56 and fits perfect. The age between 1953 - 1961. I found out, that HO Stalinallee, was foundet at 1953 and renamed 1961 in Karl-Marx-Allee

Late in 1953 it was time, and the first tenants moved into the Stalin Allee, which is since 1961 Karl-Marx-Allee. Two and a half kilometers long and 80 meters wide, a socialist highway with monumental proportions. The apartments have hardwood floors, a loggia, garbage disposals and intercom. Luxury for deserving SED comrades and for the lucky winners of the lottery structure. Faded was the dispute over the standard increase, the 17th and the uprising of the June had led 1953rd The riots were the first indication that the young East German workers had with the feudal palaces adopted economically hopeless. But now the new road was celebrated, with new homes and new outlets to State Trading Organization HO. Then told a colleague from Berlin Radio.

The first Homburg is a J. Heinr. ITA from Vienna Austria. This is one of the great Austrian hat companies. My guess is mid to late 1950s.

The Royal Homburg is just some made up name. I have no idea who made it because there is no company mark on the paper label or liner.
If the liner is stitched I would say mid to late 1950s.

The MW Diamant Homburg was made by Max Wiese Herrenhüte G.m.b.H.. If the liner is stitched I would say late 1950s very early 1960s.

By the way they are all very nice! I like the bow work on the MW Diamant Homburg. The J. Heinr. ITA would be consider the highest quality.

Manfred, Super! I am happy it turned out to be the correct size! Really great Velour (color + finish)! I especially like the sweatband. It has a great look to it! I wasn't aware that Karl-Marx-Alle was originally Stalinalle. I can see why they eventually made a name change. :)

This is a Peschel from 1963 size 62 which is unusual for me to find it's the largest hat I've had delivered shame it does have some marks on it :

I get all these hats but I can never get a good size 60 that will fit me! Very frustrating.
