George MacDonald Fraser, WWII combat vet (CBI Theater), Flashman author, screenwriter and OBE, passed away yesterday.

I'm sure I'm not speaking out of turn by saying on behalf of all Flashman fans, this is a great loss. Rest in Peace, Mr. Fraser...

I haven't read any of the Flashman books, but I can recommend his memoir of his wartime experiences in Burma, Quartered Safe Out Of Here.
