Thanks again guys!!!

Hepville! Wow! What amazing stuff!! You really DO need to start selling all those!
We´ll see. ;-)

Hepville, great work, I especially like the jeans. Did you draft a pattern completely by yourself, or use an existing draft or pattern and make adjustments?

Well I´ve made similar denim pants and jackets before using commercial patterns together with small pattern parts I´ve made alone... and first I wanted to do this again.
This time I´ve made the patterns completely by myself.
I´m in apprenticeship for custom tailoring and my mistress gave me some time and a lot of her knowledge to get the patterns right.
She said that I have to learn pattern making anyway and these are some good garments to start with.
Things I´ve done before by sense know do become a logical fundament that also can be used on other clothing...

Hepville is the cap padded to give it the height?
VM

The cap is not padded. I guess it´s because of the shape of my styrofoam head. My caps haven´t that height on peoples heads (like you can see in my pictures here or if you go to the cap faction and see some pictures from fellow lounge members wearing one of my caps

I've had a nothing to do and so I sat down and made a sketch of the jacket I would love to have one day. Not that I'd ever be able to do this myself. I just did the sketching...

It's supposed to be a two-tone sport coat with pleated patchpockets and belted back. The collar, arms, pockets and belt are in a lighter, contrasting colour. I imagine the darker coloured fabric to be gabardine, the lighter coloured parts a light tan herringbone tweed.

Well, anyway. At least it was great fun sketching this out... ;) :D

As I said, Mario: Your jackets gonna need working button wholes when it will be made. I see you´ve took away the brown from the pockets...

Come again?

Not necessarily. I just kinda "mumbled" the pleats so the possible details are open to interpretation... :D

I just added some minor details to the sketch and tried to update it on Photobucket but for some reason that didn't work so here's the new version:

gents, for those of you who have followed my tailoring efforts in this thread, there is a page with more photos in the latest issue of Men's File magazine (issue 07 below). it features a short interview and a link to my blog (where you will see more clothing).

if you haven't seen the magazine yet i urge you to find a copy. it is easily the best vintage and heritage clothing themed men's magazine in my humble opinion.

Will do! Saw the small preview on their homepage and lloking forward to read the full article. Didn't come across the new issue yet but will order it from Sodabooks as soon as they get it into the shop. They also still have all the back issues ( I have 3 of them) so I might get the others too for free shipping.

Been doing a lot of work recently. These are some ties made from a pattern dated 1941. The striped material is new Italian tie silk, the patterned material is vintage silk.

Marking the fabric and cutting:

The pattern comes with a bow tie, too:

Also a shirt with a detachable collar from a 1930s pattern. The pattern has detachable and attached collars and barrel or french cuffs. All the buttonholes are handmade (because my machine can't do them).

Very nice, Nick! +1

What pattern company and number are the tie and bow tie?
I have a similar vintage pattern (Simplicity 4816) but didn´t had the time to yet to make a tie.

Finished a few days ago... a 1950s Ricky Jacket:

Visually damn close to a jacket advertised by Mr. Tony Curtis for Sport Chief about 1954... I guess I have seen a similar jacket somewhere here on the lounge but can´t remember where.
