I just saw the latest Sportsman's Guide catalog, and there are a few pieces of gear in there that might be worth checking out. I doubt the quality is as high as other places, but it is definately affordable. Here's what I saw, but there might be more:

Tanker Jacket: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=217636

M41 Field Jacket: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=194177

Roughouts: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=259556

Paratrooper jacket and pants: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=217635

M43 jacket, pants and patrol cap, plus buckle boots: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=235053

HBT cap: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=297507

There are also a number of things like first aid puches, Garand ammo belts, e-tool covers, canteen covers, etc. Just do a search using "repro" as a search term and a bunch of stuff will come up.

I look forward to a review if anybody gets any of these things!

Anybody have any experience with any of this stuff?

Actually, I acquired the paratroop trousers from Hessen thru ebay when they first started selling tht stuff a couple years ago.
I dare say its all from the same overseas factory as SG.

they were ok. Good for the price to roll around in the field.

ATF as I mentioned now has their own budget line of imported items. But that overseas factory is using ATF's patterns. So it should be a bit nicer than this other gear & about the same price.

Of course their american made gear is pricier & better detailed.

Lefthanded zips are annoying but fortuitous for the female reenactors around here.

I never seem to see a M41 jkt thats got a good khaki color, proper zip & good brown buttons.
Theres a very well made one from WhatPriceGlory. It was a bit green for my tastes tho. Since theres a pic of ClintEastwood on the site, I assume they supplied FlagofOrFathers.

I've been eyeing the SG M41 jacket for quite a while--not as a reenactor, but just as a '30s-'40s style windbreaker. Has anyone actually owned one here? I'd love to hear a review.

This thread brings up something I do not understand. Why would any jacket or coat have left opening zippers/buttons? This has always mystified me.

Europe and Asia! Most of those countries use the left hand zippers and buttons. Just what got started a couple of century's ago. My Barbour International jacket is left hand. This worked out great, when I bought a left over modern jacket liner, that for some reason had clear plastic on the inside, most annoying! So I took off the zipper stop at the top and reversed the zipper to the other side, now it is left hand like the jacket, and very warm!
